Xiaomi is gearing up to release a new Redmi Note smartphone in the global markets. Xiaomi recently revealed that the Redmi Note 8 which was released two years ago has sold over 25 million units, and to celebrate the milestone, Xiaomi plans to launch the Redmi Note 8 (2021).
An official announcement was made today when the company took to its social media accounts to share teasers of the upcoming smartphone.
The teaser revealed the smartphone's design as it showed that the Redmi Note 8 (2021) will come with a water-drop notch just like the original Note 8. The teaser also revealed that the device will come in a gradient blue color, but there will likely be more color options available.
Redmi hasn't released any information regarding the specs of the smartphone but according to previous reports, there are claims that the Redmi Note 8 (2021) will be powered by an Octa-core MediaTek's Helio G85 SoC and will pack a 4,000mAh battery with 22.5W fast-charging. The smartphone is also expected to have MIUI 12.5 software that will be based on Android 11.
The poster didn't show the rear side of the smartphone so we're yet to confirm if the Redmi Note 8 (2021) will have the same back design as the original Redmi Note 8. However, the Redmi Note 8 (2021) is expected to feature a quad-camera setup on its rear with the primary sensor being a 48MP camera accompanied by ultra-wide, macro, and depth sensors whose resolutions are currently unknown.
The Redmi Note 8 (2021) is tipped to be a budget smartphone. We expect Redmi to announce a launch date for the device in the coming weeks and when that happens, we'd make sure to update you on the new developments.
