After almost two years since it launched the Redmi Note 8 series, Xiaomi is reportedly looking to re-release the Redmi Note 8, according to a series of tweets by a renowned Xiaomi tipster after the device was spotted in an FCC listing.
A Xiaomi smartphone was spotted by the leaker, Kacper Skrzypek on FCC with the model number M1908C3JGG. The leaker in his follow-up tweet said that the device has been confirmed on one of Xiaomi's pages to be the Redmi Note 8 for 2021.
The Redmi Note 8 for 2021 has been confirmed on FCC to have a MediaTek's Helio G85 processor with a 4000mAh battery and MIUI 12.5 which will be based on Android 11. The difference here is that the 2019 original version came with Snapdragon 665 as its processor.
In separate tweets by another tipster— Xiaomiui —on Twitter, it was revealed that the smartphone will pack a quad-camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor, a water-drop display, up to 128MB of storage, and it will support fast charging of up to 22.5W.
Xiaomi is rumored to make the Redmi Note 8 for 2021 available in select markets only, including Europe and Russia. The original Redmi Note 8 series featured an FHD+ display and it is expected that the version set to be released will be the same.
