The camera specifications for the Samsung Galaxy S22 have surfaced online thanks to a leak shared by @FrontTron on Twitter. According to the leakster, the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ will feature a triple-camera setup that includes a 50MP primary sensor, 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 12MP telephoto shooter with a 3x optical zoom lens.
Previously, Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 shared the same triple-camera setup that featured a 12MP primary sensor accompanied by a 64MP secondary camera with a 12MP 120° ultra-wide-angle lens. The Samsung Galaxy S21+ also featured the same camera specifications. If the rumors are to be believed, then the trend of repeating cameras ends with the Galaxy S21+ as Samsung will be introducing new camera specs for the Galaxy S22 series.
With the change, Samsung will be introducing a larger 50MP camera on the Galaxy S22 that will offer brighter results, record 8K videos, and also function in 100MP mode.
There have been rumors that the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ will not have under-display selfie cameras, nor will they have 3D ToF sensors.
With the release of the Galaxy S22 series still at least 6 months away, it is advisable to take all leaks and rumors with a pinch of salt as preliminary plans for the smartphones could change as development progresses.
