POCO has confirmed that it will launch its first budget 5G smartphone— POCO M3 Pro 5G —in global markets. In an interview with Android Central, Kevin Xiaobo Qiu, POCO's global head, and Angus Ng, head of product marketing for POCO global confirmed that the POCO M3 Pro 5G will be launched globally on the 19th of May with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor under its hood.
Renders of the POCO M3 Pro 5G surfaced ahead of its launch, confirming that the smartphone will have a triple camera setup on its rear just like the Redmi Note 10 5G. The only difference between both these devices will be the drawing of the rear panel, and different laser engraving (for branding).
POCO M3 Pro 5G is expected to feature a 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD display with 1080×2400 pixel resolution, and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The device is expected to pack 6GB RAM and faster storage compared to POCO M3.
The triple camera setup on the rear will have a 48MP primary sensor with the two other cameras being 2MP depth and macro sensors. The front camera will be a punch-hole notch with 8MP.
The device will run on Android 11 based MIUI 12.5 and could come with a 5000mAh battery with 22.5W fast-charging support over a Type-C port. The smartphone will feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor which will double as the power button.
