A few weeks prior to the official launch of the new Nokia X10, G10 and X20 smartphones by HMD Global, there appears to have been a breach in protocols as the specifications of the Nokia X20 in the X-series have found their way to Geekbench.
This device was rumored to be part of the devices set to be launched at the #LoveTrustKeep event scheduled for Thursday, the 8th of April. However, this breach has provided us with the key specs and features of this smartphone (which we were not supposed to have seen until the official launch), all thanks to Geekbench.
The Nokia X20, as revealed by Geekbench, will run on the latest Android 11 operating system with an SM4350 chipset in the motherboard. This chipset is widely known as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 System on Chip (SoC). It will also be coming with 5G capability which is pretty impressive. Considering the company produced a lot of budget 4G smartphones not so long ago, this might be the first of many “affordable” 5G devices that will be announced by the company. The smartphone should also sport a base frequency of 1.80GHz which should guarantee ample processing speed for the device.
In addition to the earlier rumored 128GB ROM for the Nokia X20 smartphone, Geekbench has revealed that there will be 6GB of RAM slapped on top of this highly anticipated device. Although, there will be no surprises if we see that this phone comes in different variations in storage.
There are other benchmarks in Geekbench’s release that hints at other features such as an amazing face detection feature in the camera of this smartphone, with a superb HDR score, but until it is officially launched, no one can be certain for sure.
This yet-to-be-launched smartphone belonging to Nokia’s X series might go straight into markets in Europe upon its launch, skipping India, as it is rumored to cost approximately 350 Euros which should convert to 415 US$. Two other cheaper smartphones, Nokia X10 and G10 are expected to launch with the X20 in April, both rumored to sport equally amazing specs for their proposed low cost.
We have to give a hand to the company for the good work in producing budget smartphones.
These specifications are very exciting, however, we will find ourselves waiting for a few more weeks to uncover the in-depth details about what HMD Global has in store for us.
